After you have processed all of your goods you will travel south to the Salt Trader. It is a short drive so as long as you remain vigilant you will be able to make it there in one piece and sell all of your refined salt. Once you arrive you will approach the NPC and use your scroll wheel to unhide the option to sell your processed goods. As always, it is more efficient to double-click all of the salt in your inventory as it will automatically fill the sell amount with the amount you possess. Fortunately, there is an ATM less than 50m away in the nearby Vigilante Outpost where you will be able to deposit your profits.
*After finishing processing take your vehicle to the salt trader directly south of the salt processor.
*Scroll wheel on the salt trader to sell your processed salt on your person, you will need to manually remove the salt from the vehicle to sell.
*When finished selling go to any ATM the closest being the Vigilante outpost nearby to store the money via scroll wheel or left windows key on the ATM.

Introduction

One of the many legal runs that you can do on the island of Altis is salt mining. Salt is a that can be processed into and sold as refined salt. It is one of the first recommended runs for newer players that can be increased with possession of a Worker's Protection License.

Starting the Run

Before starting this run, it is strongly recommended to check the price of salt for optimal profits and to follow the list below to make sure you have all the required equipment.

  • A pickaxe (Purchased at gas stations/markets) Required for collecting salt
  • Food & Water
  • Bergen Backpack for space salt
  • A vehicle to store the salt
  • Salt processing license ($12,000 at the DMV)
  • Head to the Salt Mine southwest of Sofia to fill your vehicle and optionally your backpack using left windows key in the salt mine area

Processing

  • Head north of the salt mine to the salt processor to refine your goods into processed salt.
  • To process, scroll wheel on the processing machinery inside of the blue shed, you can either process from the vehicle or from your backpack and must remain 25m of the machine.
  • Before pressing Process, it will give you the time required to process. Canceling processing will process items up to the progress you obtained.

Selling

  • After finishing processing take your vehicle to the salt trader directly south of the salt processor.
  • Scroll wheel on the salt trader to sell your processed salt on your person, you will need to manually remove the salt from the vehicle to sell.
  • When finished selling go to any ATM the closest being the Vigilante outpost nearby to store the money via scroll wheel or left windows key on the ATM.

Run Time

Using a tier 4 box truck with no storage upgrades, bergen backpack, and Tier-4 turbo this run will take 25 minutes with no real difference with any alternate routes posted in the screenshots. With a processing bonus, it will take 20-22 minutes.

Payout

Using a box truck with no storage upgrades and a bergen backpack (210 refined salts) will yield a payout of $402,150 (WPL: $462,473)
