Before you begin, it is a good idea to check the market value of heroin via the “Y” menu to ensure that nobody has sold weed recently to maximize your profits. It is also recommended that you bring at least 3 [[Virtual Items|items]] of food and water to sustain yourself for the duration of the run. You will want to begin this criminal venture by purchasing or retrieving a truck from the truck shop located directly east of Pyrgos. From there it will only be a short drive to the heroin field where you will gather the unprocessed heroin. Upon arrival, you will see there is a long strip of tall grass where you will safely be able to park your vehicle. Walk up near the heroin fields symbol on the map and hit your windows key to begin harvesting. There is a row of rectangular farmland with thick concrete walls that can be used in a sticky situation to avoid gunfire and the tall grass can also be used to lay in weight for your attackers to come closer to deliver a lethal ambush should the [[Altis Police Department|APD]] or competing drug-traffickers discover you. Once you have harvested the desired amount of unprocessed heroin you will want to leave and head south towards the heroin processor. There are two routes used for this destination with the safer but longer route taking you down the MSR and through DP22 into the hills and the quicker and riskier route that takes you through Pyrgos and through the hills to the processor.

Once you arrive at the heroin processor you will find the NPC tucked away in a rundown longhouse. There are walls all around the compound and pieces of junk that can be used as decent cover. However, it will be extremely easy to be boxed in by your enemies should they descend on you from all sides. You may not be particularly vulnerable while in the act of processing but it would still be wise to keep your wits about you and listen for any approaching aerial or ground vehicles.  Once you are settled in and feel you will be safe, you must now take your unprocessed heroin to the processor NPC located in the house. If it is your first time processing unprocessed heroin into black heroin then you will need to buy Heroin Processing License ($25,000) in order to use the NPC. Be sure to sync your new training by hitting ESC. Fortunately, there is a bonus for processing that will incrementally give you faster progress as you process more heroin

This will take more time but you will have the processing bonus bar from any bonus received for processing unprocessed heroin into pure heroin. Pure heroin can also be used in order to repair a broken leg without the use of an IFAK.

This is the optimized path for completing the heroin run.

Introduction

One of the many illegal runs that you can do on the island of Altis is running heroin. Heroin is one of the easiest illegal items to run when you are first becoming financially stable enough to be able to afford armaments to protect yourself and large enough vehicles in order to increase your profits.

Starting the Run

Before starting this run, it is strongly recommended to check the price of black heroin for optimal profits and to follow the list below to make sure you have all the required equipment.

  • Food and Water
  • Bergen Backpack for space
  • A vehicle to store the heroin
  • Heroin processing license ($25,000 at the processor)
  • Head to the Heroin Field east of Pygros to fill your vehicle and optionally your backpack using left windows key in the heroin field area


Processing Heroin

  • Head southwest of the heroin field to the heroin processor to turn your goods into black heroin.
  • To process, scroll wheel on the NPC inside of the house, you can either process from the vehicle or from your backpack and must remain within 25m of the NPC.
  • Before pressing Process, it will give you the time required to process. Canceling processing will process items up to the progress you obtained.


Processing Pure Heroin

  • After turning your unprocessed heroin into black heroin, you will get the option to “Double Process” to turn it into pure heroin.
  • Turning black heroin into pure heroin increases your profits once sold (x1.25 current price).

Selling

  • After finishing processing take your vehicle to any Drug Dealer. The closest to heroin proccesor is to the west of Pygros.
  • Scroll wheel on the drug dealer to sell your heroin on your person, you will need to manually remove the drugs from the vehicle to sell.
  • When finished selling go to any ATM the closest being in DP 21 to store the money via scroll wheel or left windows key on the ATM.


Payout

  • The average payout for a heroin run using a Box Truck and a Bergen (210 heroin) is $640,080 for heroin and $800,100 for pure heroin.
  • If your gang is in control of the cartel it will allow you to hold onto 15% more of the profits which is otherwise paid as gang tax to the controlling gang.

Run Time

  • Using a tier 4 box truck the run took 35 minutes and 16 seconds. The alternate route posted above will be 31 minutes. If one was to double process it would take 41 minutes
