This is the optimized path for completing the heroin run.

Introduction

One of the many illegal runs that you can do on the island of Altis is running heroin. Heroin is one of the easiest illegal items to run when you are first becoming financially stable enough to be able to afford armaments to protect yourself and large enough vehicles in order to increase your profits.

Starting the Run

Before you begin, it is a good idea to check the market value of heroin via the “Y” menu to ensure that nobody has sold weed recently to maximize your profits. It is also recommended that you bring at least 3 items of food and water to sustain yourself for the duration of the run. You will want to begin this criminal venture by purchasing or retrieving a truck from the truck shop located directly east of Pyrgos. From there it will only be a short drive to the heroin field where you will gather the unprocessed heroin. Upon arrival, you will see there is a long strip of tall grass where you will safely be able to park your vehicle. Walk up near the heroin field symbol on the map and hit your windows key to begin harvesting. There is a row of rectangular farmland with thick concrete walls that can be used in a sticky situation to avoid gunfire and the tall grass can also be used to lay in weight for your attackers to come closer to deliver a lethal ambush should the APD or competing drug-traffickers discover you. Once you have harvested the desired amount of unprocessed heroin you will want to leave and head south towards the heroin processor. There are two routes used for this destination with the safer but longer route taking you down the MSR and through DP22 into the hills and the quicker and riskier route that takes you through Pyrgos and through the hills to the processor.

Processing Heroin

Once you arrive at the heroin processor you will find the NPC tucked away in a rundown longhouse. There are walls all around the compound and small buildings that can be used as decent cover. However, it will be extremely easy to be boxed in by your enemies should they descend on you from all sides. You may not be particularly vulnerable while in the act of processing but it would still be wise to keep your wits about you and listen for any approaching aerial or ground vehicles. Once you are settled in and feel you will be safe, you must now take your unprocessed heroin to the processor NPC located in the house. Players and vehicles must remain within 25m of the NPC in order for processing to be complete. If it is your first time processing unprocessed heroin into black heroin then you will need to buy a Heroin Processing License ($25,000) in order to use the NPC. Be sure to sync your new training by hitting ESC. Fortunately, there is a bonus for processing that will incrementally give you faster progress as you process more heroin. You may also choose to process an entire vehicle full of raw materials into processed items. Players can select to process from a selected vehicle but multiple players may not process from the same vehicle. The time taken to process the inventory of the vehicle will be displayed and canceling processing will process all items up until the point of cancellation. Buffs gained from processing will also apply to the rate at which the vehicle is processed as well.

Processing Pure Heroin

After you finish processing you will notice that there is an option to “double process” your black heroin into pure heroin. This will take more time but you will have the processing bonus bar from any bonus received for processing unprocessed heroin into pure heroin. The pure heroin will give you a significant increase in profit upon selling (x1.25 current price) so if you believe yourself prepared to double your processing time it will be well worth it. Pure heroin can also be used in order to repair a broken leg without the use of an IFAK.

Selling

After you are done processing it is best to leave the processor as quickly as possible and begin your way towards the Pyrgos Drug Dealer Once you are within a reasonable distance it is also recommended that you try to scope the area out from a distance to ensure nobody is camping the dealer or already using it to sell drugs before you arrive. To interact with the drug dealer simply scroll wheel, double click the amount of drugs you have in your inventory to select all of the black/pure heroin in your inventory, and click sell. Once you are done, deposit your money in the nearby ATM at the town center or in the nearby town of Dorida before carrying on.

Payout

The average payout for a heroin run using a Box Truck and a Bergen (210 heroin) is $640,080 for heroin and $720,090 for pure heroin. If your gang is in control of the cartel it will allow you to hold onto 15% more of the profits which is otherwise paid as gang tax to the controlling gang

Run Time

Using a tier 4 box truck the run took 35 minutes and 16 seconds. The alternate route posted above will be 31 minutes. If one was to double process it would take 41 minutes
